The Canadian Pony Club is a volunteer run organization that offers education programs, activities, and competitions for young people up to the age of 25 who are interested in horses and ponies.
The motto of the Canadian Pony Club is:
Sportsmanship - Loyalty - Character
The Mill Ridge branch of the Western Ontario Region was formed in 1982. We draw our members from Fergus, Elora, Belwood, Rockwood, Alma, and surrounding areas.
Mill Ridge operates a winter lecture series from January to April. We offer an extensive education series covering all areas of horsemanship, horse and pony care, safety, equipment and sportmanship, and arrange clinics on a wide range of topics.
Mill Ridge is not associated with any one stable and does not provide horses for members. There are many stables in the area where those who do not own a horse can participate in our activities by leasing, borrowing, or sharing a horse or pony.
Throughout the year, members from Mill Ridge Pony Club participate in all Regional events such as senior education sessions at the Ontario Veterinary College, clinics, Regional Quiz, Prince Phillip Games, Tetrathlon, Dressage, Show-Jumping, D-Rally and ABC Rally.
Mill Ridge Pony Club believes that the most important part of pony club is to foster a love for horses and sportsmanship in all of our members.
More information is available through our District Commissioner, Bronwynne Wilton who can be reached by email at bwilton@uoguelph.ca
